Tony reminds smokers of free help in quitting

Tony Wright MP is urging smokers to take advantage of the NHS's free help in quitting the habit

Smokers in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area can send a text message asking for support to help them quit the habit.

Having text the word Quit to the number 65000, anyone who wants to find out more about stopping smoking will be contacted by a health professional within 24 hours. This professional will then offer a dedicated range of services best suited to that individual's needs.

Tony said:

'It is fantastic that the NHS is able to provide this free service to help people in giving up smoking. The simple process of sending a text now makes it easier than ever before for people to begin quitting. Not only do the NHS make it easy to begin, they also provide the best help around to ensure that kicking the habit is as easy as it can be.'

The support being offered by NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney is free to any smoker who is thinking about stopping. People may be referred to specialists for one-to-one advice, information and advice about the latest treatments through support sessions at a mutual place beneficial to that individual.
