Small Shop of the Year nominations

Small Shop of the Year Nominations

Tony Wright MP is urging people across Great Yarmouth to nominate a small shop in the Borough for Small Shop of the Year.

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Small Shops is holding the competition to highlight the plight and importance of small shops across the country.

Tony said:

‘Small shops play an important role in our lives and are often important parts of the community. In these difficult economic times I hope you’ll give your support and nominate your favourite small shop here in Great Yarmouth. We have superb local shops and I want people to tell me why theirs is special and should win this national award.’

Each small shop in the competition will be judged on product, family/history, innovation, originality, investment and sustainability. A shortlist will then be drawn up by members of the APPG and a winner selected by an independent person from the business community.

A reception at the House of Commons will be held early this year to celebrate the success stories and to name a winner for the title of Small Shop of the Year.

Nominations can be sent by post to Tony’s constituency office at 20 Church Plain, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 1NE or by email to wrighta@parliament.uk by

01 February.
