MP urges everyone to take part in Macmillan's world's biggest coffee morning

Tony Wright feels good about being Shaken and Stirred!

Tony Wright MP is urging people across Norfolk and Suffolk to “feel good” and help raise over £8 million – by taking part in the worlds Biggest coffee morning.   Sitting in a giant coffee mug and being shaken and stirred is a great way for some people to feel good but Tony Wright MP is looking forward to having his feet firmly back on the ground and using a regular size coffee mug for its more traditional purpose of holding coffee.

Tony will be a part of something huge by once again being one of the thousands of hosts for this years Worlds biggest Coffee Morning.  He will be holding his coffee morning on the 21 September from 10.30 – 12.30, so as not to disrupt his regular advice surgery.

Tony said:

“ Macmillan are well known for the excellent work that they do I am pleased to be a part of this event again this year. This is a successful longstanding event that has taken place for many years now, and offers a chance to raise awareness about the incredible work that Macmillan does, and the support they offer people effected by Cancer.  I know the event will be a huge success and urge everyone in Great Yarmouth to take part making the 25 September a real feel good day for all”

Macmillan Cancer Support wants thousands of people across Norfolk and Suffolk to feel good and  take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning this year.  They are asking for over 2,5000 people to hold a coffee morning for us  to help fund vital cancer services, from specialist nurses and doctors, to grants and advice for people with cancer who have financial problems.

Last year two million people around the UK took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, raising a massive £7.5 million. This year the charity hopes to raise over £8 million from the event, on Friday 25 September, to fund its vital cancer services.

Fundraising manager Lorna Willis said;

"It’s a fantastic chance to be apart of something really very special.  There's no right or wrong way to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. You can have a traditional coffee morning at home or work, organise a glamorous coffee-themed evening, or even serve up smoothies or herbal tea instead of coffee.

“And don’t worry if you can’t hold your event on the official coffee morning day, just organise it at a time that suits you. The important thing is that all the money you raise will help improve the lives of people affected by cancer. So why not join the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 25 September and help Macmillan reach more people affected by cancer?”
