MP attends re-siting of Elizabeth Stocks memorial plaque

MP attends re-siting of Elizabeth Stocks

memorial plaque

07 December 2009

Tony Wright MP attended a ceremony for the re-siting of the memorial plaque dedicated to the late Elizabeth Stocks, Head Occupational Therapist at Northgate Hospital.

Colleagues had a memorial plaque placed in the garden of remembrance at the crematorium after the sudden tragic death of Elizabeth at the age of 51. However, when the maintenance contract for this expired Elizabeth Pesman, one of her colleagues, contacted Tony for advice.

Tony helped make arrangements for the plaque to be placed permanently in Northgate Hospital close to the former occupational therapy department as a fitting tribute to the memory of Elizabeth Stocks.

Tony said:

‘The re-siting of the memorial plaque was something with which I was glad to be of help. 4 December marked the 20th anniversary of Miss Stocks’ death who  was a well respected member of the occupational therapy team. The placing of this tribute at Northgate Hospital is especially apt and fitting ’

‘It is wonderful to see that by re-siting the plaque here in the Cranbrook block, Northgate Hospital now honours the remarkable Miss Elizabeth Stocks and today was like a homecoming ceremony ’
