Visit to Great Yarmouth on Monday 26 October 2009
Kevan Jones MP is pleased to visit Great Yarmouth at the invitation of Tony Wright MP for Great Yarmouth. The purpose of the visit is to meet various cadet forces in the Borough.
Starting with the Sea Cadets based on Riverside Road Gorleston NR31 6PZ to see the improvements to the unit. Due to arrive at 16.30. Representatives from the Royal British Legion will also be here to launch the Poppy Appeal in Great Yarmouth. The Minister will give recognition of the Burgee award which the Unit was recently presented with, for the first time in the unit’s 70 years plus history.
At 17.15 Tony and Kevan will go to the Air Training Corps HQ of the 221 Squadron on Suffolk Road, Gorleston NR31 OPZ to meet officers and cadets to see them in training.
At 18.15 to Flegg High School at Martham NR29 4QD where the Winterton 901 Marine Troop will form a guard of honour, followed by introductions and a display.

He has always shown support for our young cadet forces and veterans and recognises the valuable contribution they make at various events. Praise and thanks are also given to the officers who volunteer their time and energy and parents who support the dedication of the cadets who all together make the units such a success. The involvement of the Royal British Legion for the launch of the Poppy Appeal in Great Yarmouth is gratefully received.’’
