Join me in the launch of my Fairtrade campaign!

I was very pleased to receive a visit from Ivan Lewis, the newly appointed Minister for Overseas Development on the 23rd October.

The Minster accompanied me to the Edward Worlledge School to show the children the fantastic new ‘race against global poverty’ online game – designed to teach children and young people about the difficulties in the third world, and what we can do to help the communities in those countries.

The game can be found online at: http://raceagainstglobalpoverty.direct.gov.uk/

We also visited the Oxfam shop on King Street to meet some of the volunteers and to discuss the need to raise awareness everywhere to help those in the third world. From this visit, I am happy to announce the launch of my campaign to make Great Yarmouth a Fairtrade Borough.

The first meeting to discuss the campaign will be on;

November 28

at 6pm

in Christchurch Methodist Hall, King Street, Great Yarmouth.

Anyone who is interested in coming along would be extremely welcome.
