Building work finished on Cobholm and Lichfield Health Centre

Building work finished on Cobholm and Lichfield

Health Centre

Construction work on the £2 million investment in the new Cobholm and Lichfield Health Centre has now finished, giving people across Great Yarmouth improved access to a wide array of new medical services.

Building work on the centre, on Pasteur Road in Great Yarmouth, has now finished and work will soon be completed on the building’s modern interior before it opens it doors to the public for the first time on 01 February 2010.

Health services currently based at the Nelson Medical Centre on Churchill Road will transfer to the new centre, enabling NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney to continue providing high quality health care. Other services currently offered at the Nelson centre, including adult education, family mediation and stop smoking clinics, will continue there, along with numerous support groups.

Tony said:

‘The finishing of building work is fantastic news and the cutting edge Cobholm and Lichfield Health Centre will be a welcome addition to the wide array of health services already available to the people of Great Yarmouth.

‘The new centre will provide a modern environment for patients in which they can receive high quality health care, and I know this will be a welcome and vital asset to Great Yarmouth.’

Along with providing GP services, the new building also offers a minor operating room, shared clinic facilities and a meeting room for use by nurses working in the community.
